FAQs

  • Do you take insurance?
We do not accept insurance, so payment is required at the time of service. However, if you would like to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement, we can provide documentation. HSA and FSA are accepted.
  • Does insurance cover cost of blood work?
You can submit your labs through insurance. Blood work is billed directly from the lab facility to your insurance plan. Check with your insurance plan to find out which labs are in-network.
  • What is clinical genomic testing? How is it different than some of the tests that I can order by myself?
Direct-to-consumer tests and reports are not medically comprehensive. In other words, they don’t tell the whole story, and they don’t provide recommendations. IntellxxDNA genomic testing provides evidence-based, science-focused genomic intelligence. Dr. Suntay will use these results to develop intervention strategies to help you achieve optimal health and wellness. Also, IntellxxDNA keeps your medical information and results private. They are not accessible to third parties (unlike the direct-to-consumer tests).
  • What do IntellxxDNA reports tell me?
IntellxxDNA reports provide insight into your unique genomic makeup to assist in developing truly personalized care. Your DNA contains variants, or SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms), that may signal potential benefits as well as risks. IntellxxDNA reports examine the complex interplay between these variants and how they can affect your quality of life. From this, Dr. Suntay can develop evidence-based intervention strategies encompassing environment, lifestyle, nutrition, supplements and medications.
  • Knowing risks in my DNA feels scary. Do I really want to know? And if I do know, what can I do about it?
Your DNA is not your fate. Understanding your genomic profile empowers you to make intelligent health and wellness choices that can impact and improve your future quality of life.
  • Are my genomic test results included in my health record?
Genomic information within medical records are subject to review by providers of life insurance, long-term care insurance and disability insurance. There are pros and cons to including your genomic results in your medical record. Dr. Suntay will discuss this with you and ensure that your medical records are documented in a way that insurance companies cannot discriminate against your results in the future.
  • Do you accept HSA or FSA to cover costs?
Yes, we do accept most HSA and FSA cards for our services and testing.
  • Do you protect my private health information? Does IntellxxDNA protect my genomic results?
Yes, our medical record system and portal are secure and HIPAA compliant. IntellxxDNA keeps your medical information and results private. They are not accessible to third parties (unlike direct-to-consumer tests that you can order yourself). Also Dr. Suntay ensures that your results are documented in a way that insurance companies cannot discriminate against your results in the future.
